passage of time
It all begins with the idea of long scrolls equipped with all-pervasive writing gestures, as in Shufa scrolls. These are just small fragments.
Writing through manuscripts evolved into examining a scribe’s physical life in the scriptorium… The time to acquire the skill, not just in medieval times but even today, with growing interest and perspective, opened new horizons and made me review and reassess the time in the sense of dedication.
The dedication demands a significant amount of time with the writer's own rhythm, movement, and moment. It offers the calligraphic impulse as a growing and evolving organism that embodies itself in various forms on the surface of different minds. With this perception and dedication, the period of time demands "before," "now," and "then." They all refer to the past, present, and future, which leads me to consider it the passage of time. These are the parts of this period that manifest culminated knowledge and skill.
